Global health is a field closely related to health risks and poverty that spread in a chain reaction across the global scale.
In particular, for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), despite the possibility of prevention and treatment, development of pharmaceuticals is not progressing due to a lack of development funding and insufficient public interest and attention. Furthermore, issues such as poverty, inadequacies in the healthcare system, and disparities in access to healthcare information are preventing necessary medicines from reaching the people who need them. In addressing global health and NTDs, where various social issues are intricately intertwined, we aim to shape the future together with partners who walk alongside us, sharing a long-term perspective.
Aiming to Contribute to Global Health Together with Voluntary Groups from Japanese Companies and Others
Eisai participates in the Business Leaders’ Coalition for Global Health led by Ken Shibusawa (CEO, Shibusawa & Company, Inc.). It is a volunteer organization of Japanese companies and other organizations contributing to the field of global health, and composed of executives from a wide variety of fields, including not only the healthcare sector, such as pharmaceuticals and medical devices, but also finance, trading, digital, supply chain, and more. With the purpose of creating a future where everyone has access to necessary medical care and people worldwide are healthy, the Business Leaders’ Coalition for Global Health is united under the vision of 'Japan collaboratively supporting healthy lives of people around the world,' and is promoting global health action.

For the Children Who Will Lead the Future
Eisai provides educational opportunities, such as on-site classes, aimed at deepening the understanding of global health and NTDs among children who will lead the future.
On-site Classes at Schools
Eisai introduces its efforts to address global health issues and improve access to medicines through on-site lessons conducting by Eisai employees at schools and events for children.
We communicate to children, who will shape the future, that there are "neglected" people and diseases that are rarely featured in television or online news, that various companies and individuals are earnestly working on global health issues including NTDs, and that these efforts are connected to the children's future.
