Lifenet Insurance Company and Eisai
Capital and business alliance aiming to establish an ecosystem to reduce the healthcare/home nursing burdens on people in the daily living domain.
In 2024, Eisai and Lifenet Insurance Company (“Lifenet”) co-developed a dementia insurance product “be” to support the early detection/early treatment of dementia and mild cognitive impairment (MCI). This insurance product was created leveraging Eisai’s extensive experience in drug discovery and disease awareness activities, particularly in the field of dementia, as well as Lifenet’s expertise and technologies cultivated through their work with insurance products/related services. Moreover, both companies aim to promote the creation of healthcare solutions by utilizing a range of their data and customer touch points, expanding their ecosystem to contribute to resolving social challenges.

Tokio Marine Nichido and Eisai
Collaboration to realize a Dementia-Inclusive society
Eisai and Tokio Marine Nichido signed a collaboration agreement to realize Dementia-Inclusive society in August 2019, having launched a digital cognitive function check tool “NouKNOW®” as an ancillary service for Tokio Marine Nichido’s “Long-term care indemnity (installment payment)”. In 2021, the two companies co-developed a new insurance product, “Dementia Care Support Insurance,” to financially support early detection and early treatment of the disease. Tokio Marine Nichido and Eisai will further promote efforts to resolve various social challenges by expanding the network through collaboration with various companies and organizations, to realize a Dementia Inclusive Society.

Business alliance under the theme of “improving brain health for safe driving” aiming to promote safe driving and extend driving life in an aging society
E.design Insurance, a Tokio Marine Group company, and Eisai entered into a business alliance agreement in June 2022 under the theme of “Improving Brain Health (brain performance) for Safe Driving,” aiming to realize a society where people can safely enjoy driving for a longer period of their lives. E.design Insurance and Eisai are providing a service to allow the use of “NouKNOW” and “Brain Workout (brain training content)” for customers who have purchased “&e” automobile insurance. The companies aim to create new solutions, including a service utilizing the driving score provided by “&e” and the “NouKNOW” score to support maintenance and improvement of brain health.

Creating Guidance on Reducing the Risk of Cognitive Decline and Nutrition, and Development Guidelines for Home Delivery Meals/Meal Kits
Eisai, under the supervision of NCGG, has created the “Guidance on Reducing the Risk of Cognitive Decline and Nutrition” and the “Handbook for Developing Home Delivery Meals/Meal Kits that Contribute to Reducing the Risk of Cognitive Decline.” These documents are provided to food-related companies, including those offering home delivery meal/meal kit services. With this initiative, NCGG and Eisai aim to improve public nutrition through collaboration among industry, government, and academia, contributing to extended healthy life expectancy and the creation of a society where the elderly can continue to live with peace-of-mind within their communities.

Activities towards realizing Dementia-Inclusive Society
Eisai has concluded regional cooperation agreements with local governments and other organizations throughout Japan, committing to identifying and adressing local residents’ concerns related to dementia. The company has implemented proprietary initiatives tailored to the challeges confronted faced in each region, such as providing opportunities for brain health assessments using “NouKNOW” and establishing pathways to subsequent medical care and support.
