World Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) Day (January 30) Internal Awareness Event

February 10, 2026

January 30 marks the annual World NTD (Neglected Tropical Disease) Day designated by the World Health Organization (WHO). On this day, various awareness activities are conducted worldwide to enhance awareness of NTDs1 and encourage action.
Eisai is committed to activities supporting the elimination of NTDs, and every year we conduct NTD awareness activities internally.
Following the last year’s event, employees at our Headquarters in Tokyo, Tsukuba Research Laboratory, Kashima Plant and Kawashima Industrial Park in Japan and the Vizag Plant in India dressed in orange and purple ― the symbol colors for NTDs, and enjoyed a lunch menu with orange and purple ingredients.
This year our company's leadership team, including our CEO, also gathered wearing ties or scarves in NTDs symbol colors, and shared lunch while discussing Eisai’s commitment to the elimination of NTDs.

Employees who participated in the event wrote messages on photographs that were taken and shared their aspirations toward NTD elimination.
The cafeteria staff kindly devised a special menu featuring the NTD symbolic colors and wore orange and purple masks and attire on the day to make the event even more lively.
Since joining the world's largest international public-private partnership for the elimination of NTDs in 2012, Eisai has been working towards this goal with various partners. Despite numerous challenges, significant progress has been made through global partnerships across sectors and improved ownership in endemic countries. Eisai will continue to implement company-wide efforts towards the elimination of NTDs.

Eisai Headquarters (Tokyo, Japan)

Tsukuba Research Laboratories (Japan)

Tsukuba Research Laboratories featured a poster at its cafeteria entrance, creating a meaningful opportunity to share time to build awareness and understanding of NTDs through conversations about the common topic of food, and foster interaction with “NTDs” as the keyword.

Kashima Plant (Japan)

At Kashima Plant, employees had colorful and delicious meals at its cafeteria decorated in orange, sharing thoughts about those affected by NTDs.

Kawashima Industrial Park (Japan)
Orange tablecloths added a vibrant atmosphere to the cafeteria of Kawashima Industrial Park. Employees wearing orange and purple outfits and accessories enjoyed lunch while chatting, creating a valuable opportunity to develop their understanding of NTDs.

Vizag Plant (India)
At our Vizag Plant in India, which manufactures a treatment for lymphatic filariasis, one of the NTDs, employees took a commemorative photograph forming the letters “NTD” while holding orange balloons to visualize our commitment to eliminating NTDs based on our hhc (human health care) concept, as well as enhancing our “One Team” spirit.
