Eisai Announces Launch of Consumer Health Information on Corporate Home Page

Tokyo (September 19, 1997) - Eisai Co., Ltd. of Tokyo (President and CEO: Haruo Naito) today announced the placement of consumer health information on the corporate home page entitled "Health & Beauty Care".

"Health & Beauty Care" provides health information to consumers in the following three important areas: health problems, bodily function, and medicine.

Health Problems
The new page includes: consumer concerns involving health problems, explanations of the mechanism of disease action, and advice on various activities of daily living. The new section also carries information concerning Eisai*s principal consumer healthcare products in the vitamin related product areas (JUVELUX, CHOCOLA BB, NABOLIN, etc.) In the future the explanations will expand to include gastrointestinal areas, and allergy.

Bodily Function
Through the usage of a computer graphic, functions of the human body are illustrated and explained in an easy to understand manner.

Information involving medicine type, dosage, safety, etc. are provided in the new section.

Eisai*s home page was opened on December 16, 1996 and includes general information about Eisai, Investor Relations information, major corporate news releases, and information concerning health care and society. In the future we will continue our efforts to provide consumers with beneficial human health care information.
