Our Products

Eisai's global major products comprise the anti-Alzheimer's agent Aricept and the proton pump inhibitor Pariet/AcipHex. Approved and marketed in Japan, the United States, Europe and Asia, both products contribute to increasing benefits for patients and their families worldwide.

We are also concentrating our efforts in the area of integrative oncology, with the currently marketed antiemetic agent Aloxi, the DNA methylation inhibitor Dacogen and the anti-clotting agent Fragmin constituting our major products in this arena. Halaven, a novel anticancer agent discovered and developed in-house, received approval in the U.S. as a third-line treatment for breast cancer in November 2010, and was subsequently approved in other markets including Singapore, the European Union, Japan and Switzerland. The agent is currently marketed in the U.S. and some European countries, and was launched in Japan in July 2011. We are also marketing the anticancer agent Symbenda/Treakisym (bendamustine hydrochloride) in Singapore and Japan as a treatment for low-grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma and other types of lymphatic cancer.

We continue to move forward with our entry into the field of biologics with the development of therapeutic antibodies and other such agents, and based on a licensing agreement with U.S.-based pharmaceutical company Abbott Laboratories, we currently market the fully human anti-TNF-alpha monoclonal antibody Humira in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan as a major product for the treatment of immune-mediated diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.

Eisai defines diseases of the central nervous system and integrative oncology as key areas of therapeutic focus and remains committed to making contributions to increase the benefits provided to patients and their families around the world.
