Eisai Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, President & CEO: Haruo Naito, “Eisai”) announced today that the application period for the voluntary retirement program it announced on November 29, 2013, has now ended and hereby discloses the results of the program as follows:

| 4) Effective Date of Retirement: | March 31, 2014 |
| 5) Preferential Conditions: | A premium will be added to the normal retirement allowance of eligible applicants. In addition, eligible applicants will also have the option to receive job-placement assistance. |

3. Impact on Financial Performance
The total amount of premium retirement payments to be made in conjunction with the program is planned to be recorded as special loss for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2014. Regarding the impact on consolidated financial results for the same period, this amount has been included in the consolidated financial forecasts for fiscal 2013, which are disclosed in the Consolidated Financial Report for the Third Quarter of Fiscal 2013, released today.
