Personal Information Documentation Loss Release

Eisai Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Tokyo, President and CEO: Haruo Naito) today announced that the Nagoya Communication Office (Location: Nagoya City, Aichi Prefecture) of the Company found on April 11, 2006 that documents containing personal information had been lost.

The documents which are believed to be belongings of an employee of Eisai were reported as lost property on April 10, 2006. As the result of an investigation, it was determined that the documents had been stolen along with the employee's bag and product information guides when someone broke into the employee's car in May 2005. Although the names, affiliations and positions of 163 people including medical experts, employee member of client companies and staff in Eisai are included in the documents, they contain no information such as private addresses, telephone numbers or E-mail addresses. We have reported and apologized on this matter to all the persons involved.

We would like to express our sincerest apologies to all persons concerned. At this time no unlawful use of the personal information has been reported.

Eisai maintains and develops a corporate information security system structure based on the understanding that the protection of personal information is one of the highest priority issues observed in our company. We take this matter with utmost seriousness and will strive to further strengthen the control system in order to prevent a recurrence of such incident in the future.
