Job Description

  • Position performs a variety of general repairs, installations and maintenance on clean steam generator, WFI system, USP water system, facility equipment, building and utility systems such as house steam, chilled water, analysis and the addition of chemicals in open and closed loops, air & gas lines, electrical distribution and controls, refrigeration equipment, alarms and fire protection systems, piping, tubing, pumps, motors, etc.
  • Performs general carpentry, floor repairs and general repair of facility including painting, ceiling tiles and light repairs
  • May operate and maintain boiler, chiller, building automation equipment and maintain required record of operations
  • Inspect equipment for proper lubrication and perform other preventative maintenance duties
  • Check out problem areas, making repairs and adjustments using the maintenance work order system
  • Operate machine tools; perform welding and sheet metal operations as required
  • Assist with repairers and maintenance of production equipment
  • Incumbent must be willing to be on call, support shut down schedules, work weekends, work off a ladder or elevated platforms, and able to work in high heat conditions

Qualifications

  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Maintenance for physical and mechanical condition of building (both inside and outside of building), utility systems and facility equipment
  • Specialized training/certification/license in two or more maintenance disciplines such as electrical, electronics, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing/pipe fitting, carpentry, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
  • Knowledgeable of appropriate construction codes
  • Working understanding of cGMP's
  • 4+ years experience as Facilities Maintenance mechanic preferably in the pharmaceutical manufacturing/packaging industry
  • 2-year Advanced education in Facilities Maintenance related curriculum or equivalent experience
