Daly's Law Analysis

Daly's Law Analysis

Daly's Law Analysis is based directly upon Daly's Law Coaching, both creative, attacking coaching and defensive coaching.

The ten types of Daly's Law Starts provide the criteria for measuring individual, group and team performance, both offensively and defensively.

These criteria, in both offensive and defensive terms, are applied to all players; individual, group and team, including the goalkeeper, who also is judged on both offensive and defensive criteria.

Use the following ten criteria as your Daly's Law Analysis criteria:

  • The Goalkeeper's Weighted Throws and Kicks into Space
  • The Weighted One-Two Pass into Space
  • The Weighted Short Pass into Space
  • The Weighted Medium Pass into Space
  • The Weighted Through Ball into Space
  • The Weighted Header or Weighted Chest-down into Space
  • The Weighted Throw-in into Space
  • The Weighted Free Kick into Space
  • The Weighted Corner Kick into Space
  • The Accidentally/Randomly Weighted Rebound or Ricochet into Space

Daly's Law Creative, Attacking Analysis Criteria

Measure how many of the above creative, attacking Daly's Law Starts were initiated by:

  • individual players, groups of players and the team as a whole
  • What were the outcomes, individually, in terms of small groups of players and collectively as a whole team?
  • Does frequency need to be increased individually, in group terms or/and as a team?
  • What about variety in the team's creative, attacking play?  Were a good number of different Daly's Law Starts employed by your team or did they employ only one or two of the ten types?
  • Was the Daly's Law balance between horizontal pace and vertical weight right in the play patterns that continued after Daly's Law Starts - shots, crosses, chips, other (Daly's Law) passes, passes into space for oneself?
  • Were your players first to get to accidental rebounds and ricochets - did they intelligently anticipate these accidental weighted balls in space (horizontal and vertical) after shots, headers, free kicks, corners?

Analyse the opposition using these same criteria.

Plan future Daly's Law coaching sessions and games on the basis of the answers to these questions.

Daly's Law Defensive Analysis Criteria

Measure how your team responded in defensive terms to any and all of the above Daly's Law Starts (and other, similar plays) when the opposition team employed them to initiate creative, attacking football:

  • Did your players read the the opposition cues intelligently, individually, in small groups and as a whole team?
  • Did your players remember and apply the principles of cover, support, balance, width and depth in defence as you taught them these during Daly's Law Coaching's small, medium and large sided practice games?
  • Was timing of tackles and communication between goalkeeper, defenders, midfielders and attackers done effectively?
  • Was your offside strategy applied effectively and consistently?
  • Was transition from defending to creative, attacking Daly's Law Starts done instantly and effectively?
  • Were opposition free kick, corner kick and throw-in Daly's Law Starts defended effectively, intelligently and consistently?

Analyse the opposition using these same criteria.

Plan future Daly's Law defensive coaching sessions and games on the basis of the answers to the above questions. Always ensure that such defensive coaching is done in response to Daly's Law Starts initiated in Daly's Law Coaching's small, medium and large sided games, i.e. in response to top performance creative, attacking play.

Such Daly's Law coaching in context is critical to achieving optimum player performance in each and every coaching session and, of course, in scheduled league and cup games as well.
